About Anja Linder

Harpist Anja Linder survived a devastating accident and continues to perform and record. Linder shared first prize in chamber music with soprano Nathalie Gaudefroy at the Arles International Chamber Music Competition in 1999. Linder began her career performing with Gaudefroy and others, designing several programs that combined music with other arts. Over three years of assistance from engineers Jean-Marie Panterne and Marc Lamoureux, she created a new instrument, an electro-pneumatic harp dubbed the Anjamatic. Linder taught the new harp at the Strasbourg Conservatory from 2013 to 2020. She also slowly resumed performing, creating a musical presentation based on the Milan Kundera novel The Unbearable Lightness of Being; the work met with approval from Kundera himself. In 2024, Linder released her recording debut, Schubert, on the Naïve label. She is also the author of an autobiography, Les Escarpins Rouges ("The Red Pumps").
