Montreal-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist SORAN transforms his most vulnerable moments into cosy, relatable pop songs that speak to the frustrations of being young and constantly in (and out of) love. As a teen, SORAN honed his singing chops as a busker and then as a contestant on the reality singing show La Voix. But by the time he released his 2018 self-titled EP, he had come into his own as a songwriter, crafting intimate, acoustic-based melodies (see “Emma”) buoyed by touches of reggae, funk and soul. A true Gen Z artist, he’s even found inspiration in social media with 2020’s catchy “IG Comments Song”.
