Though its title is slightly incorrect in that it doesn't include Tim Buckley's final two albums, this collection encompasses all the mercurial troubadour's most important phases, from 1966's self-titled art-folk debut through to the sultry funk-rock of 1972's Greetings from L.A. It's astonishing to realise the amount of ground Buckley covered in that period, generating disparate triumphs like complex baroque-pop whirlwind "Goodbye and Hello", moody jazz-folk jam "Strange Feelin'" and avant-garde exploration "Lorca" in such a short time. The addition of out-takes collection Works in Progress sweetens the pot even more.
