London DJ/producer Teneil Throssell’s debut album as HAAi, Baby, We’re Ascending, is the kind of post-modern electronic record that creates a wonderful new world of sound from its influences. Breakbeat, dub, techno, noise, shoegaze, pop—the LP plays all sorts of synthetic and acoustic textures against one another for a vibe that’s part dreamy, part dancey, in the head as much as the body. She has a classical background in music, and you can really hear that in her electronic compositions.” The Cure, “A Forest (Tree Mix)” “This is such a special track to me and has been since I was a teen. I can’t wait to close a festival set with it this year somewhere.”
