As mysterious as you'd hope a band devoted to singing about darkness and sixth senses would be, Mexico City's LeBaron play a kind of rock that's sometimes acoustic, sometimes electronic, and always committed to texture and atmosphere. Precedents might include Argentina's Soda Stereo and ambient Mexican synth-poppers Moenia, though there's undoubtedly some Radiohead and My Bloody Valentine in there as well. Moody and evocative until the bitter end, LeBaron is perfectly suited both for very late nights and very early mornings. And if it's raining outside, all the better.
