New Yorker Will Epstein uses a stylish blend of experimental pop, jazz improvisation, and electronic textures to color his melodic songwriting style. Initially known for his saxophone work with frequent collaborator Nicolas Jaar, Epstein began a solo career as a singer/songwriter under the name High Water, creating layered, electro-acoustic compositions that skirted the far edges of pop music. He expanded into film music, scoring the 2020 HBO documentary Baby God, then returned under his own name with the ambient and spontaneous Whims. Signing with the Fat Possum label, Epstein experimented with a more direct, albeit still adventurous pop style on 2023's Wendy.
