About Far From Home

The musical duo Far From Home consists of husband and wife Kellie Bishop and Kevin O'Loughlin. Both had come from musical backgrounds that extended to long before the two met with the Jacksonville-born Bishop coming from a musical family and the Tampa-raised O'Loughlin having been in bands for years. They discovered their common love of music while working for a Silicon Valley technology firm, leading to the formation of Far From Home with Bishop as lead singer and O'Loughlin accompanying on guitar and adding harmony vocals. They soon became romantically involved as well and the demos for their first album, Like A Whisper, were recorded following the pair's honeymoon. Released on a small label in 1998, the release earned positive critical notes for their low-key blend of folk, rock, and pop, as well as garnering interest at radio in European markets. The two soon relocated to Oregon and subsequently released Somewhere In Between and New Kind Of Love. ~ Tom Demalon
