About Dallas Fort-Worth Mass Choir

With its 200-plus members representing some 100 churches of various denominations from throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the DFW Mass Choir was organized on March 20, 1990 by the Rev. Armond W. Brown, Pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Oak Cliff, and the Rev. Milton Biggham (executive producer at the Savoy Record Company of New York City). Making their live recorded debut with 1991's I Will Let Nothing Separate Me, the choir then toured the country's urban centers and saw their LP hit number five on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. They would revisit the chart with subsequent releases including 1993's Another Chance, 1994's For His Glory, and 1998's I'd Rather Have Jesus. The new millennium saw the arrival of By the Love We Show and Pressin' On before the two-disc compilation Dallas-Fort Worth Mass Choir Superset was issued by Light Records in 2004. Sporting a trimmer selection, another compilation, Best of the Dallas Fort Worth Mass Choir, appeared on the label in 2008. ~ Jason Ankeny & Marcy Donelson
