Many of the most iconic figures in pop dabbled in rockabilly—one of the earliest styles of rock ‘n' roll—including Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Elvis Presley. The style is a blend of rhythm and blues and country with a driving, fast tempo. By the mid-'50s, rockabilly was part of the mainstream, changing music forever.
