Los Invasores de Nuevo León Essentials

With a decades-long trajectory and dozens of recordings under their belt, Los Invasores de Nuevo León helped create the blueprint for the norteño group. Founded by vocalist Eduardo “Lalo” Mora, backing singer/accordionist Javier Rios, bassist Homero de Leon and drummer Eliud López in the late ‘70s, in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, the group’s cast of talented musicians would change over the years. Many of their songs have entered the canon of norteño music, like the early hit “Laurita Garza”––a classic tale of love and betrayal––and “Eslabón por Eslabón”, whose vintage cowboy swing continues to beckon boot-clad dancers.
