As a young talent on the Swedish jazz scene, this bassist and composer cut his teeth working alongside American titans like Jack DeJohnette and Dave Liebman. Over his long career, Danielsson has carved out a reputation as a skilled bandleader, often recording for the ACT imprint. The bassist's collaborations with pianist Leszek Mozdzer have a finger-snapping, buoyant quality, while his partnership with vocalist Cæcilie Norby features some of his richest playing (with his bass tones sounding like scatted vocalisations). And on solo sessions, he's apt to display some gorgeous arco-bowing technique, too.
