Funeral for a Friend Essentials

Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend energised the international scene by merging punk with alt-metal. Inspired by classic acts like Fugazi and Deftones, the group scored an immediate hit with their '03 debut, Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation. Though initially aligned with metalcore bands like Atreyu, their sound soon developed deeper melodic elements, which drew in emo and alt-rock admirers alike. By the time they had returned to their punk roots for '13's Conduit, Funeral for a Friend were well established as one of the scene's most accomplished outfits.
