Dennis Linde: The Songwriters

Songwriter Dennis Linde’s storytelling gift has made for timeless tunes in multiple eras and genres. He gave Elvis Presley his last smash single in 1972 with the sensual rocker “Burning Love” and the Dixie Chicks their first taste of controversy with the black-humoured 2000 hit “Goodbye Earl”. And Linde spun an over-the-top tale in 1992 on Mark Chesnutt’s “Bubba Shot the Jukebox”, about a song so sad it drove a man to commit the titular crime.
