About Tröjan

Formed in Wigan, England, in 1982, Trojan’s original line-up comprised Dave Kenyon (vocals), Pete Wadeson (guitar), Andy J. Halliwell (guitar), Brian Bentham (bass) and Mick Taylor (drums). The band first became noticed on the heavy metal underground scene with a hastily recorded five-track cassette. This credible offering was a blend of high-speed thrash metal with a punk attitude. The band contributed a track to a budget compilation, Metal Maniaxe, released on Ebony Records in 1982. However, owing to a relative lack of record company promotion, coupled with a yearning by various members of the band to pursue other musical directions, they dissolved. Determined to carry on, Wadeson underwent lengthy auditions to re-form the band. By 1984 a new line-up was confirmed, featuring Graeme Wyatt (vocals), Eddie Martin (bass) and Sam Hall (drums). Chasing The Storm was released on Roadrunner Records in 1985 and was well received, with its sound firmly rooted in the NWOBHM. The group toured extensively at home and abroad, culminating in an appearance at the Whiplash Festival in Belgium in 1986. Through managerial and personal problems the band split up for a final time in 1988, at which time Wadeson and Wyatt went on to form the melodic thrash band Talion.
