About Jasmine Choi

Flautist Jasmine Choi takes a light touch to her performances, bringing delicacy and velvet tones to works by Brahms, Schumann and other greats. Born in 1983 in Korea, Choi grew up in a musical family and started playing piano and violin before picking up flute at age nine. She later studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, which gave her the foundation to earn soloist gigs with some of the world’s most respected orchestras. Choi is a former principal flute of the Vienna Symphony and associate principal of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and she has arranged violin concertos by Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. She raised her international profile by performing several lively compositions during the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, and also served as the Artist-In-Residence of the New York Classical Players between 2018 and 2021.
