No One Can Save You from Yourself

No One Can Save You from Yourself

The fifth album from this Detroit hardcore band took eight years to materialise but it loses no impact because of that hiatus. After a brief intro in which the President declares martial law, they’re off with “Illusion of Safety”, a relentless barrage of thrashy riffing and hammering drums. Candace Kucsulain is a commanding presence at the microphone, roaring and shrieking her way through the rallying chants of “Relentless” before proving just as powerful when using her voice more melodically on the heavy ballad “Probably Will”.
