Klaviertrio Hannover

About Klaviertrio Hannover

The Klaviertrio Hannover chamber ensemble has rediscovered and recorded unknown works by composer Emilie Mayer. The group has also recorded music by Beethoven, and in performance, it tends to program music appropriate to special occasions. The Klaviertrio Hannover was founded in the mid-2010s by pianist Katharina Sellheim, with violinist Lucja Madziar, and Johannes Krebs. The group made its recording debut in 2019 with an album of Beethoven's piano quartets, joined by Konstantin Sellheim on viola. The trio attracted wide attention for its performances of three piano trios by 19th century composer Emilie Mayer, part of a group of nine chamber works by Mayer rediscovered by Katharina Sellheim and edited by members of the group. The trios had their premieres on November 25, 2021; the Klaviertrio Hannover recorded the works over the previous several days, and that recording was released in 2022.
