Eddie Money Essentials

You might not think that a third-generation New York City cop-in-training named Eddie Mahoney could become a rock star. But after moving to San Francisco and changing his last name, Eddie Money struck gold out of hard-driving rock and classic-model AM-radio hooks, beginning with 1977’s “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise". Eight years later, a duet with Ronnie Spector on “Take Me Home Tonight” would be his biggest hit. The singer's struggle with addiction would derail his career a couple of times, and subsequently allow for as many comebacks. Money continued to tour (with three of his children playing in his band), and appear in a reality TV show about himself and his family, up until his death in 2019.
