Following his run on Season 11 of reality competition show American Idol in 2012, Colton Dixon's career skyrocketed to become one of the top Christian pop stars of his generation. Born in Tennessee in 1991, Dixon grew up singing in choir and even started a rock band alongside his sister, Schyler. His 2013 solo debut, A Messenger, combined lush pop arrangements and jagged guitar riffs that harkened to emo royalty Paramore. Meanwhile, Dixon's 2023 LP Canvas broadened his musical palette with swaths of country, electro-pop and R&B that elevated his message of faith and musical joy to new heights.
