Claude François Essentials

Known for dazzling sequined suits, slick pop vocals and non-stop female backup dancers, Claude "Cloclo" François attained cult stardom following his death by accidental electrocution in 1978 at age 39. While he specialised in dynamic French-language covers of Motown songs and other American hits, François also made a mark as co-writer of "Comme d'habitude", the original version of "My Way". Thinly veiled pop-rock originals about his divorce and subsequent affairs led to this charismatic dynamo's later recognition as an authentic chanteur.
