About The Damnwells

Brooklyn's the Damnwells specialize in the kind of lager-soaked, salt-of-the-earth rock & roll championed, if not exactly pioneered, by scruffy predecessors like the Replacements and Wilco. Formed in 2001 with Alex Dezen on vocals/guitar, David Chernis on lead guitar, Ted Hudson on bass, and Steven Terry, formerly of Whiskeytown, on drums, the group issued debut EP PMR + 1 in late 2002. Full-length BASTARDS OF THE BEAT saw release in 2003; AIR STEREO followed in 2006. In 2008, Dezen announced the dissolution of the group in its original form; he also oversaw the download-only release of OUR LAST CENTURY in 2009.
