Radio 4

About Radio 4

Radio 4's blend of post-punk riffage and danceable club rhythms made them prime players in New York City's dance punk scene of the early 2000s. Comprising members of various lauded New Jersey hardcore bands, Radio 4 in many ways typified the movement's central notion that dance music was just as visceral and inspiring as punk rock. After releasing two full-lengths with the New Jersey indie Gern Blandsten, Radio 4 signed with the primarily electronica-driven label Astralwerks, churning out numerous LPs, EPs, and singles, many of which featured a clear political bent in the vein of the Clash's more message-oriented work.
