Like Angeline Quinto, her bandmate in the all-girl supergroup DIVAS, Yeng Constantino rose to prominence through TV talent contests. In 2006, when she was still a teen, she won the singing competition Pinoy Dream Academy. She’s since become one of the Philippines’ most beloved pop-rock artists on a journey that began with the enormously successful album Salamat in 2007. Tracks like the emotive, acoustically driven “Cool-Off” and the raucous guitars of “Time In” typify her spirited approach, although she’s also branched out into piano balladry (“Ikaw”) and soul-inflected pop (“Lapit”).
