Winston McAnuff's bluesy tones were introduced amid the Jamaican roots reggae explosion with his ‘78 debut Pick Hits to Click. Natty rhythms and effect-laden dubwise production back up the innovative singer/songwriter's soulful chanting and gospel-influenced harmonies. In 2005 his career found new momentum in working with French-Lebanese composer Camille Bazbaz, bridging pop-reggae with soul and synth grooves. Strengthening ties with France, he's collaborated with artists like Java and Fixi—introducing the folky sound of the accordion to the hip-hop and Afrobeat of his infectious repertoire.
