The Van Jets emerged in the middle of the '00s as a rock act always firmly in touch with the hottest trends. Employing fuzzy guitars, and evoking a youthful energy recalling the garage sound spearheaded by The Strokes, frontman Johannes Verschaeve led the band in more of a glam direction—the result is crowd-pleasing and edgy, a formula that scored them recurring appearances on the main stage at the Rock Werchter festival. Later, their sound became more polished with an emphasis on keyboards, yet didn't lose one bit of its vitality.
