Stuck in the Sound Essentials

Brought together in 2002 through a shared admiration for ‘90s American titans of rock like Nirvana, Pixies and Sonic Youth, French band Stuck in the Sound spice up the genre with contemporary indie flavours. Their name refers to their habit of sequestering themselves in a basement when writing, so it's not surprising they've emerged with fresh approaches to electro indie over four albums and counting. 2009's Shoegazing Kids was a big commercial success, with lead single “Ouais” rushing up the charts for this enduring act.
