Stephan Eicher Essentials

Restless musical adventurer Stephan Eicher has charted his own course over a 40-year career. Performing in French, German, English, Italian and his mother tongue Swiss-German, his raw voice first established itself as the driving force for ‘70s punks Grauzone. His husky vocals have remained a through-line in synth-heavy solo electronic work, and have matured over a 25-year collaboration with writer/lyricist Philippe Djian, which began with the game-changing My Place in 1989. Jazz and African beats, cinematic scores and orchestral arrangements have followed in an ever-evolving career.
