Saint Motel’s brassy, bouncy indie pop is pure euphoria. Since forming in 2007, the Orange, California band has been churning out piano-pounding, horn-blasting dance gems, like “Puzzle Pieces” and “My Type”, which combine the rock muscle of the Arctic Monkeys with the dizzying elation of vintage disco. Building upon their feel-good grooves, the quartet released the first-ever virtual reality album, 2016’s saintmotelevision, a sleek mix of rollicking dance rock that slips in triumphant sax, wobbly psych riffs and a whole lot of positivity with such infectious sing-alongs as “Move”.
