Pat Benatar Essentials

Pat Benatar is one of the best, loudest, most no-holds-barred, successful female vocalists in the history of rock music. Born in 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, Benatar began her musical studies in the field of opera, but dropped out of university at 19. After working in nightclubs, off-Broadway plays and recording jingles, Benatar was signed to Chrysalis Records and released her first album, In the Heat of the Night, in 1979. Benatar's anthemic new wave/pop/arena rock sound made her a hit on both radio and TV in the early ‘80s and garnered her four GRAMMY® wins.
