2012 saw some timeless tunes snatched up by advertising campaigns. The Rolling Stones pumped up Call of Duty clips, while Depeche Mode souped up Armani's style and Marvin Gaye helped Durex get people in the mood. But the music sold the ads as much as the ads sold the music, blowing up Lana Del Rey's spaced-out cover of a Bobby Vinton classic and Alex Clare's soultronic stunners.
