Lacrim Essentials

Paris-born, of Algerian descent, Karim Zenoud goes by stage name Lacrim—a reference to his many brushes with the law. His rap style rolls gritty and weathered, and debut album Faites Entrer Lacrim dropped in 2012, quickly followed by a mixtape in the same year and countless appearances with artists like Mister You and Hayce Lemsi. The lead single “Mon Glock te mettra à genoux” from chart-topping album Corleone in 2014 blew up with its hard orchestral/electronic beat and raw gangsta rap, but Lacrim's deep roots in street life don't stop rewarding digressions into contemporary R&B.
