Judy Collins Essentials

Singer/songwriter Judy Collins' crystal-clear soprano voice beautifies virtually everything she sings—and she sings the best. Collins concentrated on guitar-centric folk music in the early '60s, such as Pete Seeger's "Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)", before recording indelible material by then-obscure songwriters like Joni Mitchell ("Both Sides Now") and Leonard Cohen ("Suzanne"). During the ‘70s, Collins' repertoire expanded to include pop, jazz, standards and showtunes—most notably her definitive version of Stephen Sondheim's "Send In the Clowns".
