Dutch virtuoso pianist Michiel Borstlap is a prolific composer of sensitive and reflective piano-focused compositions influenced by jazz, pop and classical music. He has been active since the mid-‘90s and developed a career as a jazz pianist alongside his work as a classical and film music composer. His delicate style of playing and jazz improvisation recalls Keith Jarrett's solo projects, mixed with Chopin and Erik Satie. Filled with ambience and contemplative moods, Borstlap's music is by turns minimal and romantic, as he travels through solitary cinematic piano anthems.
