Goldie Essentials

Already an esteemed graffiti artist, Goldie established himself as a pioneer of the drum 'n' bass scene in the early '90s. At first recording as Rufige Kru and Metalheadz—also the name of the label he co-founded—his debut studio album, 1995's Timeless, fused frenetic and complex breakbeats with soulful orchestration, and was a massive commercial success. His follow-up, 1998's Saturnz Return, headed in an expansive direction, with guests like Noel Gallagher, David Bowie and KRS-One. Since then, he's forged a sideline career as an actor and become a regular reality TV contestant.
