François Feldman burst onto the French pop scene with “Rien Que Pour Toi” in 1986. Ten million album sales later, the still-swinging soft-rocker has a special place in his nation's musical identity. Inspired by James Brown and Stevie Wonder, Feldman has built a catalogue of accessible funk pop that's the product of a long-standing collaboration with lyricist Jean-Marie Moreau, whose work often lends a melancholic depth to the upbeat music. His charming oeuvre also includes the three uber-catchy No. 1 hits: “Les Valses de Vienne”, “Petit Frank”, and “Joy”.
