DJ Mehdi: The Producers

DJ Mehdi: The Producers

DJ Mehdi was born to Tunisian parents in a northwestern suburb of Paris, and initially worked within the French hip-hop underground. But his talents couldn't be contained to a single genre, and he soon found himself recording with French Touch pioneers Daft Punk and Cassius, and international acts such as Asian Dub Foundation and Chromeo. He signed his own deal with Ed Banger Records, releasing a number of original albums and the cult Loukoums mixtape in homage to J Dilla's Donuts. He died in a tragic accident in 2011, but his catalog serves as a testament to an uncontainable spirit.
