The members of Pennsylvania alt metal pranksters CKY met as teenagers, united by their love for classic thrash and groove metal. Releasing their debut in 1999, the group was bolstered by its association with MTV punk-in-residence Bam Margera, whose brother Jess is CKY's drummer. Appearances on Jackass and the Warped Tour soon followed, with CKY becoming the unofficial house band of skateboarding. But the band's music has matured over the course of their career, with later albums incorporating bits of New Wave and progressive rock.
