Throughout his entire career, Marley could turn a typical album track into a low-key classic. On the 1970 Wailers gem "Soul Rebel", he sounds focused and melancholy over a lo-fi beat of shuffling organ and shakers, while the posthumously released "Trench Town" finds him putting some grit into his voice over a lush meditation on the liberating power of music.
