Andrew W.K. Essentials

After playing with dozens of experimental punk and noise bands in his native Michigan, Andrew W.K. moved to New York City in 1998 and grabbed a reputation for his sweaty, ultra-intense live performances. With the release of his second solo album, I Get Wet, the party starter became one of the decade's most unexpected stars, part old-school metal hero and part motivational speaker. Throwing together arena rock with new wave grooves at an insane hardcore punk speed, these tracks are almost impossible to hear without wanting to dance like a maniac in a tiny sweat-soaked club.
