Part of the Mafia K'1 Fry collective and artists in their own right, the French hip-hop group 113 make a killer combo: three rappers with African and Caribbean origins spitting tight rhymes over impeccable beats, hooks and samples. Their consistent output of raw, hard rap records dates from the turn of the century—spilling over into lush pop-R&B tunes and even flurries of disco funk with an injection of Daft Punk-style vocoder on “Fout la merde (feat. Thomas Bangalter)”. The collective nature of the group has meant regular collaborations with the extended family of Paris' hip-hop hardcore.
