Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics

About Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics

Featuring soulful lead vocals and a full horn section, Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics make earthy, old-school '50s- and '60s-style R&B. Formed in 2005 in Gainesville, Florida by singer Ruby Velle, guitarist Scott Clayton, and organ player Spencer Garn, the band relocated to Atlanta in 2007. Two years later, they had landed a residency at the Star Bar and built a strong local following. In 2010 and 2011, Creative Loafing voted them Atlanta's best soul band. In 2012, Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics released their debut full-length album, It's About Time. ~ Matt Collar
