About Paula Cole
Best known for her 1997 smash hits “I Don’t Want To Wait” (the Dawson’s Creek theme song) and “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?”, Paula Cole has a broad discography worth exploring. Since her debut in 1994 with Harbinger, the artist (born in Rockport, Massachusetts, in 1968) has married emotional and thoughtful themes to a gift for accessible yet sophisticated songwriting. Her Berklee-trained mezzo-soprano has proved its versatility over a long string of studio albums that have encompassed Americana, jazz, rock and blues. Her prodigious talents as a singer, songwriter and producer have enabled her to pursue a prolific and creatively uncompromising career. Well after her chart success in the ’90s and a Grammy win for Best New Artist, Cole has continued to evolve, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as 2010’s extremely personal Ithaca, 2013’s autobiographical Raven and 2019’s politically charged Revolution.
