Los Vallenatos de la Cumbia

Assembled by brothers Sergio, Martin, and Francisco Sias Sánchez in Monterrey, Neuvo León, Los Vallenatos de la Cumbia emerged as one of the first successful Mexican bands playing the Colombian cumbia and the northern coastal folk style known as vallenato. Their breakthrough came in 1990 with their first international release with a song called "Mentiras" climbing the most popular local charts. ~ Drago Bonacich
