About Kris Jensen
b. Peter Kristian Jensen, 4 April 1942, New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Jensen was a one-hit-wonder whose sole chart entry was the 1962 US Top 20 success, ‘Torture’, a song written by John D. Loudermilk that the Everly Brothers had turned down. Jensen recorded singles for the Colpix, Leader and Kapp labels before signing with Hickory Records. ‘Torture’ was his first release for that label; more than a half-dozen subsequent releases failed to match the debut’s success. Jensen later recorded for White Whale and A&M Records.
