Hedvig Mollestad Weejuns

Hedvig Mollestad Weejuns is an improvisational trio composed of guitarist Mollestad, organist Ståle Storløkken (Supersilent), and drummer Ole Mofjell (Nypan). Their jams are based on simple circular riffs and vamps that spiral into the unknown, combining and crisscrossing genres from jazz and fusion to prog rock, dark ambient, and post-psych, with an adventurous textural palette and controlled dynamics in free musical conversation and interplay. They developed a set list of cues, then played and recorded shows. In September, Rune Grammofon issued a self-titled double album; its track list was drawn from their concerts.
