The Duo Barrenechea is formed by flutist Sérgio Barrenechea and his wife, the pianist Lúcia Barrenechea, and has performed since 1989 with performances in numerous cities in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Tell us why you chose this song. “Odeon (Ao vivo)” In this recording made live, we made a tribute to early musicians of choro music in this classic from the Brazilian repertory. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our album Brasileirissimo Encounters with Brazilian music of historical names, such as Ernesto Nazareth and Francisco Mignone, composers who are in full activity. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The Duo has a special predilection for erudite and popular Brazilian music. Its proposal is to explore the vast repertoire for the formation of flute and piano, including first auditions of Brazilian composers.
