Dr. Gunni

After being apart of the Iceland-based avant-garde troupes of S.H. Draumur and Bless, Gunnar Hjálmarsson went on his own to form his one-man solo project of Dr. Gunni. With his 1991 debut EP entitled Eins Og Folk Er Flesk, Gunni got together a drum machine and a guitar to create his own distorted noise, comparable to early Butthole Surfers and Big Black. Bad Vugum Records followed with the Vessar 7" in 1992. ~ Mike DaRonco
