Dog Faced Hermans

About Dog Faced Hermans

Dog Faced Hermans were a firebrand collective of anarchist noisemakers hailing from Scotland, a country known more for smart, quirky pop than the jittery, skronk-driven folk-punk employed by the Hermans. The musical and ideological kindred spirits of the legendary Dutch punk band the Ex, the Hermans went so far as to move to Holland and release a split single and long-player with the band. The group were quite popular in both the European and American underground, releasing their most well-received albums on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label. The band called it quits in the mid-'90s, and not surprisingly, several members went on to join the Ex in fighting the musical and political good fight.
