About Darren Hanlon

An Australian music scene vet through stints with the Lucksmiths, the Simpletons, the Deerhunters, and Mick Thomas, singer/songwriter Darren Hanlon went solo in 1999. A charming and clever songwriter, Hanlon established himself with his observational wit and memorable pop hooks on Early Days (2000), which topped the country's independent chart. Full-length debut Hello Stranger (2002), a mix of folk-rock and quirky songwriting, was released to comparably favorable reviews. Little Chills (2004) was followed by Fingertips and Mountaintops (2006) and a collection of B-sides and rarities called Pointing Ray Guns at Pagans (2009). Hanlon released I Will Love You at All (2010) for Yep Roc, then returned with Where Did You Come From? (2015), a collection of storytelling tunes. ~ Matt Fink
