Case Studies

The solo project of Jesse Lortz, who was previously one half of the Dutchess & the Duke, Case Studies finds the singer and songwriter heading into darker waters as he strikes out on his own. With a style rooted in folk, Americana, and country, Case Studies' songs are brooding and lonely, making for the kind of music one would take when going into seclusion to do some soul searching. Case Studies made its debut in 2006 with the self-released Something You Already Know before signing on with Sacred Bones, where Lortz released 2011's The World Is Just a Shape to Fill the Night and 2013's This Is Another Life. ~ Gregory Heaney
